NFL Back To Football 2012
United Way of Charles County invited the schools of Charles County to participate in a great way to help tackle childhood obesity in our community.
United Way is focused on addressing the issue of childhood obesity and creating new opportunities for young people to lead healthier lifestyles. In our nation, the statistics are staggering: more than 33% of kids and teens are overweight or obese. It's an epidemic that will surely affect the future of our children - which is why United Way Worldwide has set an audacious goal to get 1.9 million more kids active and healthy by the year 2018.
For the third year, J.P. Ryon Elementary School took on the challenge in hopes of being named an NFL PLAY 60 Super School. Being led by Mrs. Genua, the physical education teacher at J.P. Ryon, she planned two days of events including 12 PLAY BREAKS and an outstanding Football Flash Mob dance to show the students fitness.
Take a look at the pictures showing the great school spirit at J.P. Ryon Elementary School! Great job everyone and we are keeping our fingers crossed for you to be named an NFL PLAY 60 Super School.
